Until recently, Liwag has kept himself out of the magic limelight, and although he worked at Illusions magic bar in Indiana for sometime, his published work has been relatively small.

He is best known for his work with Chris Kenner , and designed and edited his best-selling book, Totally Out of Control , as well as helping him with his short-lived publication, the Magic Man Examiner . Kenner has joked that he created the Homer Liwag character himself, so he wouldn't look bad taking the credit for writing, designing and illustrating his own books. Some have taken this statement to be fact, leading to the rumors that Liwag didn't exist.

Most of the work Liwag has published is in hard to find publications such as Magic Man Examiner and The Minotaur .
